1952 CHRIS-CRAFT 18' RIVIERA - Full restoration on a very original boat to near show quality.  Once part of the noted Allan Furth collection in Lake Tahoe, this Chris-Craft was originally optioned out in 1952 with the top of the line Hercules/Chris-Craft KBL tri-carb engine.  She was in pretty good condition overall with little if any Dry Rot but some of the planks on the hull and decks were cracking and the bottom was fiberglassed at some point probably in the 70's by Sierra Boats.  Since the new owner wanted a no soak boat we ended up installing a new 3M-5200 adhesive double ply bottom rather than glassing over again.  We also replaced most of the blonde mahogany and some of the deck planks as well. The mahogany on the hatch and rear deck was actually in pretty good condition so the decision was to preserve that area rather than replace.  The hull sides only needed a couple of the planks replaced and the transom.  The new owner also wanted the upholstery replaced, wiring all re-done, gauges restored, hardware re-plated and the engine rebuilt.  Currently waiting to be final sanded, stained and varnished. Final touch will be a new trailer to move her around.  Watch this site for final photos.
